Aldi’s cereal range is an almost comedical stroll down imitation lane. From the packaging to the cereals themselves there isn’t anything original or new to see here. Having said that I guess there’s only so much you can do with cereal that hasn’t been done before.

Whist undoubtedly a loaf of bread tastes best when made at home or sourced from a good quality bakery, Aldi breads are definately an worthwhile alternative to the overpriced offerings most supermarkets have. Seriously who’s paying $5+ for a tiny loaf of a bread?

Aldi’s meats fall somewhere between a good butcher and the ridiculous prices you’ll pay at major supermarkets. Whilst not as cheap as a good butcher the convenience and availability is often a slight advantage. Aldi meats are definately an option if you’ve missed the weekend butcher run or just simply ran out of time.

Frozen foods are already pretty cheap in supermarkets so you’ve really got to wonder where Aldi reduce costs in offering nearly universally cheaper options for your freezer. Let’s not kid ourselves frozen food is obviously less nutritional then it’s fresh counterpart.. but it’s oh so convenient and cheap!

Aldi have a wide range of drinks covering most of the larger supermarket offerings. Due to the large range you do have to be diligent as there’s definately some hits and misses in Aldi’s drink range.
