I think i'd have to rewrite the entire thing if I lived in those conditions :). Luckily here in Australia we just get icy cold but without the ice and snow!

Reading this nice article makes me glad to live in the northern hemisphere. Our past winter in Seattle was horrible - either snowing, or just above freezing and raining.

I'm thinking I could have saved myself some time and just written:

1. Put undies on.

2. get on bike

3. take some Clonazepam

4. ...what cold?

There there there... if you are going to ride in your freaking undies then you'd better start seeing a psychologist now, so that you can claim for 'sleep-riding' when a cop stopped you by.........

Man I'd trade you Queensland mornings for Melbourne mornings any day.

If I lived in Queensland I'd ride in my freaking undies to work and be warm.

I'm about to head out to work, I just had a look outside and I swear I saw a snowman riding past.

Gloves were the first thing I bought! Yeah Qld winters are mild except for the mornings. Mind you I wouldn't know any different, although I lived in Toowoomba for a while ...

Thanks for the kind words. I read over it again and can't believe I missed winter cycling gloves!

Queensland winters are still like 20 something degrees aren't they lol? I know you guys have very wet seasons so yeah mudguards will definately improve the ride. Make sure you get mounted ones and not the flimsy half arsed clip on stuff.

Fantastic article. With winter edging every closer (It aint here in Qld yet?) I have been thinking about how to approach my cycle home. Cycling home isn't as bad as cycling to work because the day has already warmed up but I think I may invest in the mud guards for when it rains.
