The Aldi Project: Reviewing Aldi Australia Bread
Whist undoubtedly a loaf of bread tastes best when made at home or sourced from a good quality bakery, Aldi breads are definately an worthwhile alternative to the overpriced offerings most supermarkets have.
Seriously who’s paying $5+ for a tiny loaf of a bread?
Bakers Taste 8 Pack Muffins
When I saw these were $2.19 my gut feeling was that they were going to be absolute garbage as with most muffins you’re paying $3.50 upwards for a pack of 6. Suprisingly though they are good. They are noticeably thinner then regular muffins and aren’t as fluffy, but they are delicious stacked with some tasty fillings.
At 8 for just over two dollars they are an absolute bargain, stop reading this page and go buy some now.

Bakers Taste White Toast
Bakers Taste White Toast isn’t going to win and gourmet bread awards but it’s a solid toasting bread that’s dirt cheap at $1.10. Most homebrand bread suffers from being too thin and dry, Bakers Taste Toast is nice and thick with a decent taste. It’s not as doughy as bread from a baker but for the price it’s more then adequate for toast in the morning.

I generally like the heavier, denser traditional german breads that Aldi offers, and they are cheap too.
There is, however one bread I suggest everyone avoids and am considering complaining about: it’s the Farmhouse Rich 15 seed and grain multigrain bread. The problem with it is that some of the grains are unhulled and human digestive systems cannot digest the hills of those grains.
I kept having to find the culprits in my mouth and try to peel them in my teeth before spitting out the peel because attempting to swallow it would make me want to vomit.
I don’t know which grain it was, but they really should process it before putting it in bread.

Hi Monika,
Aldi have stores in Queensland but contact them by phone first and see if you can get it resolved. If you can quote a receipt number over the phone maybe they can just mail one out to you.
Failing that shouldn’t be too hard to take it to a QLD Aldi store and get it changed/refunded. Aldi are a national chain so I don’t imagine there’d be any problem taking a Canberra receipt to a QLD store.

Hi Kamrul, personally I’ve got no idea but a quick call to Aldi should provide the answer you’re after.
And I thought Halal was a certain certification of the way an animal was slaughtered. Why are animals being slaughtered for bread??
