Is there enough demand for a separate new MLM blog?
Ever since I started writing about Liberty League way back when last year I’ve had a steady stream of emails from people asking if I can look into various companies. The requests range from reviews to analysis of products to just presenting general information about various companies in a clear easy to read manner, much the same as I’ve done with LLI/Polaris on OzSoapbox.
Up until now I’ve weighed in that OzSoapbox isn’t primarily a MLM blog, my time is limited and that there was enough going on with Polaris Media to keep me busy.
Then there’s the fact that given OzSoapbox isn’t a MLM blog, any new company I choose to spotlight will be up against the Polaris/LLI benchmark. In that effect it’s difficult to write about a new companies/opportunities independently.
One of the ideas I’ve been toying with over the last few weeks is the creation of a separate MLM blog. I’m by no means an expert in the field but my writing on LLI/Polaris seems to have gotten through to a lot of people.
I’ll still keep the LLI/Polaris work on here but any future news on the company will be written about on the new blog, along with reviews/news and my input on other companies and opportunities.
By having a separate blog for my work on reviewing MLM companies and discussing the industry itself (in the same ‘just a guy with a keyboard’ tone as my work here), I’ll be able to write over time about various companies without worrying about comparisons to LLI/Polaris. As well as detracting from the primary content of OzSoapbox.
I’m currently well aware that the content on LLI/Polaris on here has nothing to do with some of the other topics I write about; but it does seem to continue to provide value to readers.
Anyway, I can’t promise it’ll work and it will take time (I’m thinking maybe 2-3 articles a week) to become a useful resource but I wanted some input from you guys the readers. I figure people who aren’t interested in Polaris et al. will appreciate the fact that discussion of the MLM/Networking industry has moved ‘offshore’, and vice versa for those only looking to keep up to date or seek out information on various companies in the industry.
If you’ve enjoyed, benefited or gotten anything out of the coverage on Polaris/LLI I’ve written I’d really appreciate your input and any ideas you might have. If I’m going to dedicate the time and take on the extra workload I really want this to be of some benefit and use to people.
Thanks guys.

Sounds good to me.
I don’t really care much about Polaris so don’t mind at all. Can’t really remember how I found you blog (think it was though a link not a search) but I really appreciate your insights into living overseas.
Whilst your in site building mode is it possible to ftp up a favicon.ico? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon
It would just make RSS bookmarking easier and prettier.
Cheers

Thanks for the input Harry.
A favicon has been on my to do list for ages now, if I’ve got time this weekend I’ll update the about page and add one no worries. Thanks for reminding me.

Hey Oz – I think that would be good to cover some of these other e.g. Dubli – you google Dubli in countries such as Germany where it has been going for years and it is NOT good. So many people in Australia and New Zealand are getting ripped off by the ‘easiness’ of this business where infact, it is recruiting, taking $3500 USD to be top level – PER YEAR not just a once off and then you still need to pay out heaps in marketing to make it work (Rania ex SixFigureChicks is still doing her stupid co-op and ripping people off!).
The people making the big $$ are the big recruiters and telling people falsely that all they need is customers and give them free credits to go bid on something … and they will make thousands a month lol and win a Bentley!
- there is only so much shopping one can do … PLUS TO ME it encourages people to become addicted to the auctions and buying up shit on credit cards they can not afford .. just like an alcoholic there are shopaholics… and the latest I have heard from the grapevine is – LLI and Polaris Media Group are infact going into insolvency – this is why Rachel Oliver bought into Polaris Global Marketing (similair names) – she did not buy into Polaris Media Group …
PMG owes vendors thousands and thousands, does not have it’s second product like Decision even made and ready for dispatch in May!!! This is a common trick with attorney and company in USA… so for all those people thinking they can claim their money back from LLI/PMG welcome to the list of creditors on a bankrupt company!!
Brent I have heard has been to hell and back … shit happens to all of us, and sometimes we need to go to learn the lessons .. I am sure they learnt or he learnt a lot about the things that did not ‘work’ in LLI … he had nothing to do with PMG – he had already been thrown out by the scientologist by then … so if he is opening again – as he was the brains – it will no doubt be completely different.
Looks like Shane Krider will be back to installing car stereo and Rachel Oliver riding her scooter around Scottsdale LOL as I hear they are leaving in droves even the USA EMC are still quitting!! That is Karma and what you get for being Greedy!
So now I had my blurt – OZ love to hear more about other MLM and forget LLI/PMG the has beens.

Great idea. I think you’ll get a really good following as so many people are involved in MLMs. I heard that Xango has over a million distributors alone. The Trump Network is fast approaching those numbers. Interest in Polaris has waned, as their membership has dwindled. I wonder if it’s even over 1000. Your blog has certainly contributed to that!

Great idea Oz. You might save others thousands as you did for myself. I shutter to think without your blog I could still be involved in Polaris.

Just cause “criticism isn’t an arm chair sport” and to keep up with the theme of this blog; let’s look at it from another perspective.
I did some research on MLM companies and almost all of them have a very secretive approach to doing business. Which draws on the notion that if you’ve got something to hide then it must be bad. For some weird reason all of them do this and every MLM company forbids their active members from saying anything although this culture is changing somewhat with Amway and Avon.
On the other hand very few people decide to write about anything that’s good cause that stuff never gets any attention (news/media is proof) or it raises the “what have you got to gain?” question.
So hypothetically speaking – let’s imagine a website that writes about 10 or even 50 MLM companies… each and every review will obviously reek of negativity cause of the nature of MLM and there is at least 1 pissed off winger (member) who’s got loads to spew.
Personally if I came to such a website – I’d search for what I am looking for… perhaps read everything there is on that topic and look around for other MLM companies on this site and get the same feeling. A sort of one-stop-shop for MLM if you will.
Would I take this site seriously? Only if Google points me to other sites that have supporting commentary but if it’s the same comments and the same boring people again and again; probably not.
What such a MLM website will do however is strengthen the stereotype that ALL MLM is BAD and perhaps wipe the MLM concept off the face of this earth and also generate an income stream for the site owner from all the Google ads (which is pretty cool) in the process.
Good Luck with that!

Without the blanket assumption that they’re all bad, this is my thinking that a site solely focused on MLM should exist. There’s a bunch of ‘hey this company is bad so why not join my one!’ type sites that focus on a particular company but proper analysis of business opportunities and details about explicitly what they involve seem to be lacking.
I believe the reason for this is the companies themselves usually more then compensate enough in the positive media department. In my negative balancing coverage of Polaris Media Group I’ve had more then my fair share of ‘who do you work for?’ and ‘what do you have to gain?’ type accusations made against me. This type of attack isn’t limited to positive media.
Forget the contents of the review itself (which is the opinion of the author), as far as whingers goes I’ve never stopped people rebutting what’s been written.
The reason there’s a distinct lack of supporters is that they spout the PR crap the company told them to, get responses that are too difficult to answer and then either wind up burying their heads in the sand, or leave the company after realising the critics have a point.
Then they are never heard from again. Think of them as one hit wonders of the feedback machine.
My new project aside I’ve never penned articles for another website so any correlating or supporting information has come from an independant source.
That aside a lot of the information provided came/comes from past and present distributors themselves. This is information sourced from directly within the company and hard to refute (although amazingly they still do).
The goal is to shed some light on an industry, as you put it, shrouded in mystery. Companies shouldn’t be able to supress or bury information about themselves that might reflect badly on their new prospects. If it happened it happened.
Likewise I think it’s important that past, present and future distributors/associates/members or whatever you want to call it be given a platform to openly discuss their business ventures.
This idea coupled with my writing style will hopefully work out. If not then I can always can the project. For now there’s only one way to find out.
It’s going to be a lot of extra work but if it pays off and people get some value out of it then that’s what the internet and blogging for me is all about.

Mr. Bean, Rachel and Shane are pretty excited that the U.S. EMC members are dropping off. Rumor is that he’s been looking forward to having Aussie leadership only for a while.
The latest information seems to be that Don & Karla Silver have left the company and Kevin & Melissa Knecht have left the company. I met Kevin at an event and he seemed like he was a genuine guy but I wouldn’t give you two cents for his wife. She’s such a phoney. The Silvers seem to be really nice people. I met them in Los Anglees before the whole company blew up.
April 16th, 2010 at 3:55 am ozsoapbox(Quote)
Who are The Silvers and Knechts? I’ve don’t recall ever hearing of them, are they old school or recent fly by nighters?
April 16th, 2010 at 8:21 am former PMG(Quote)
Don & Karla Silver, Kevin & Melissa Knecht were EMC members with LLI/Polaris until last week. Don & Karla had been with the company for at least 4 years. Kevin & Melissa were there for a couple of years, quit and then came back.
Kevin is best-known for taking intros for Tony Rush on the morning “Wakeup Call”. Funny guy.

Rachel Olivers’ mother. From 24 months Rachel was a drama queen & remains the queen of cons. Born in Wollongong Hospital (birthdate removed): Not born or raised in Sydney as her Liberty League video fraudulently claims!
Rachel lost all honesty, moral & ethical values aged 15.
The principal of Springwood High School phoned for me to collect Rachel Anne Oliver from school – she was in Year 11. Rachel was distraut when I arrived. Her name was slandered in paint, defaming Rachel on many school buildings.
Drugs, sex, lies and partying caused family break-down.
Her father, Trevor Joseph Oliver offered her the option of taming her unacceptable behaviour, or to leave home. Rachel chose to leave, but was back home within 3 weeks.
Rachel is now living in the USA and pregnant for the 2nd time. If you’d like more details on my nasty daughter just ask!
She has no conscience & would take your last dollar without hesitation. Don’t trust her lying tongue, save your money! Take it from one who knows her best – Rachels’ mother.

As a friend and neighbour of Victoria Vance aka(Tori), I can absolutly say that she is Rachael Oliver’ s Mother! I am like a daughter to her and she is like a mother to me!
Tori is loving and giving and always supportive. Gives praise with love every day! To see her daughter lie and depict her on You tube was very saddening to me! You never see a true star bag out there mother in Hollywood do you!
Hey lets all get on You Tube and make up lies and bag out . our parents from when we were teenagers… Wow how grown up of You Rachael.
I have met your Grandmother, what a wonderful, well mannered caring and funny lady! Sitting in a nursing home in and out of hospital. Shame on you!

Thank you my darling Sammy,
I had no idea you intended to respond to the lies that Rachel videoed on other websites in my defense. You seldom keep secrets from me little possum. Rachels’ grandmother is loved by all associated with Warrigal Care Nursing Home Warilla, NSW for her beautiful disposition, sense of humour, and readiness to laugh at her many health adversities.
You’re so accurate Sammy in saying, “Shame on you!” Rachel, your siblings (Danielle and Joel) and your uncle, Leslie R. Vance. Sorry Sammy, I took poetic license.
Obviously the above named find old age and associated multiple health problems too inconvenient to waste time contacting Rachels’ grandmother – Mabel Rosie Grace Vance. Again I thank you Sammy for taking the time to comment. Lots of Love, Tori XXX000
