Then I read Kyle himself demanded there be no 7 second delay as it makes for more "pure entertainment" radio. Whilst the mother is certainly partly responsible for this particular incident, the fact that Sandilands refuses to do the show with a delay means in the aftermath he's just as guilty. Everyone agrees that the situation was a 'regrettable incident' and there's a simple easy way to make sure it does not happen again. From what I understand Austero management wanted a delay implemented on the show and that's when Kyle said he was 'unable to work'. I'm very glad to hear several major sponsors have since pulled their advertising support from the station in regards to this. If your show allows these things to happen and you actively refuse to implement a simple solution as a preventative measure then you deserve everything that's coming to you.
