It wasn't bad but 2x omlette meals in 8 hrs was a bit much. I'm guessing you probably met up with some tourist Taiwanese heading home from Malaysia. (Malaysia is a cheap holiday destination and a Mandarin speaking country) How was Malaysian Airline? I've always taken Cathay Pacific because the wait for the connecting flight is only about an hour. I've never seen the toilet phenomenon on my flights to Taiwan. Though I've seen it with the Chinese heading back to Melbourne! lol yes I have to admit that Taiwanese can get quite, actually, VERY loud when they get excited.
