Red Mini (Mayfair?) in Dasi Township, Taiwan
I was riding the Long Haul Trucker through Dasi Township (大溪鎮, also written ‘Daxi’) in Taoyuan County late last year when I came upon this old but still respectable looking red mini.

Sitting parked just off Provincial Highway 3, I’m not too sure of the finer details but it definitely doesn’t look like the common Rover model I see everywhere in Taiwan.

Rather I think it was one of the older ‘Mayfair’ models (circa 1982-1994) due to it being more boxy looking.
Inside was nothing special, the mini Mayfair interiors look pretty much like every other car brought out in the 80s;

If it was my car I’d get some decent mag wheels to replace those ugly hubcaps and ditch the plastic mudguards… or at least get some 13″ wheels or wider 12′s to compliment them!

The owner must be an obasang or ojisang

Lol I had to ask my girlfriend what those terms were.
The owners could very well be Japanese old people but strangely enough all the mini drivers I’ve seen in Taiwan have been younger people. The old people seem hell bent to cling onto their 90 year old farmer trucks and old school motorcycles!
