One of my favourite minis so far in Taiwan sits outside a car repair place just outside the township of Longtan in northern Taiwan.

As you leave through the south of Longtan on Provincial Highway 3, Tweety the mini marks the start of an ascent into the mountains and a departure from any major townships until you hit Jhudong Township, a good half hour to an hour later.

Unfortunately for Tweety though it looks as if this mini hasn’t been on the road in a very long, long time. Deflated tires and rust marks indicate that Tweety has been sitting out the front of this repair shop neglected for years.

Everytime I pass Tweety I’m sorely tempted to go inside the shop and see if the owner has a price. Something tells me they won’t part with it (and my Chinese is nowhere near the level of negotiating a car sale yet), but it’s really tempting.

Done up and restored Tweety looks like it’d make a killer mini to get around in. In a sea of scooters and blue trucks, Tweety’d definitely be something different to see on Taiwan’s roads…
